IN MEMORIAM

Donald Ray "Donnie" Hadaway - Class Of 1970

FUNERAL SERVICES ARE SATURDAY FOR SCHOOL BOARD VP HADAWAY
The funeral for Don Hadaway, former vice president of the Bibb County school board, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Snow's Memorial Chapel on Pio Nono Avenue.Burial will follow at Macon Memorial Park on Mercer University Drive.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 tonight at Snow's, 3077 Pio Nono Ave.
Hadaway, 42, died shortly after noon Wednesday at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. He had undergone 14 hours of surgery Monday to remove heart muscle and a mitral valve when his heart stopped beating.
He suffered from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a congenital disease in which there are defective-cells within the heart. To compensate, the muscle walls of the heart keep getting thicker, eventually keeping blood from flowing into and out of the heart properly.
Hadaway was a sales representative for Motion Industries. The Macon native graduated from the old Mark Smith High School. During his seven years on the Bibb school board, Hadaway headed several committees and served as treasurer, secretary and vice president.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Renovation Fund or Men's Club of Cross Keys United Methodist Church, 1825 Jeffersonville Road, Macon 31201.
