Willliam FountainWilliam O. Fountain April 19, 1950 - October 1, 2014 Macon, Georgia- William O. Fountain, 64, of 3555 Sunrise Drive, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 2:00PM at Swift Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Leland Collins officiating. The family will greet friends on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Harts Mortuary, Cherry Street. Mr. Fountain was a graduate of Mercer University. A veteran of the United States Marines, he served in Viet Nam where he earned the Navy Cross for Valor. Mr. Fountain enjoyed the outdoors and reading. He was a member of Swift Creek United Methodist Church. Mr. Fountain is survived by his sister, Melinda Dale Williams of Centerville, Georgia; brothers, Larry McKinley Fountain of Macon and Donnie C. Fountain (Anne) of Orlando, Florida; nieces and nephews, Brian Williams, Denys J. Flores, Michael McKinley Fountain and Andrew Kyle Fountain; great-niece, Lily Anna Flores. Gene "Leslie" Kimberly (1968)

I never saw him without a smile on this face.  He could make you laugh just by laughing.  I am NOT at all surprised that he won the Navy Cross.  He was passionate about his friends and was quick to stand up for some people who were constantly being belittled by some people who should have known better.  He straightened out more that a few of them.  Goodbye, my friend.  Guard the gate, I'll be coming to relieve you one of these days!!!!!
