She was a loving mother to her daughter, Dee Ann Burks (Gabriel) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and stepdaughters, Cassie Franklin (Jeff) of Thomaston, Georgia, and Kayla McDermitt (Kenny) of Carrollton, Georgia. Her grandchildren, Stefon (Emily), Daniya, Gannon, Austin (Hunter), Nash (McKinley), Bree, Ty (Kayley), Marybeth, and Lillianna, and great-grandchild, Sawyer, brought her immense joy and pride.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jo Ann Byington Ray and father, Bobby DeLoach.

Deborah dedicated her professional life to the service of her community. She worked with the Macon-Bibb Parks and Recreation Department for over 30 years. She then continued her career as the Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation in Putnam County for six years. Her commitment to her work was evident in her dedication to creating spaces for community engagement and enjoyment.

Deborah was an adventurous spirit with a love for the outdoors. She was happiest when she was at the beach, surfing the waves, and feeling the sun on her face. She also found peace and tranquility working in her yard and rock garden. Her love for nature was infectious and inspired those around her to appreciate the beauty in the world.

Deborah was known for her loving heart and optimistic outlook on life. She had a unique ability to find the silver lining in any situation and encouraged others to do the same. Her positivity was a beacon of light that uplifted everyone she met.

To Debbie's family, know that you all are in our prayers during this time. Know that Debbie is now one of God's Angels, joining the heavenly choir and watching out for us all.

It has been years since I saw Debbie but my fondest memories are the times we spent with our friends in DEOC. I especially remember our senior trip to Nassau and Debbie bringing her surf board on the trip.

Rest in Peace.
