Beverly Murphy (Bell)

Beverly Murphy Bell passed away peacefully on October 23rd in Macon, GA. Born on October 8, 1952, she was the daughter of George Harrison and Lillian Dorman Murphy. She is survived by her husband, Morris and son Frederik Bell. In addition to her parents her brother, Randall H. Murphy, predeceased her. Beverly attended Georgia Southern University and Georgia State University where she earned a BA degree in Business. She was the Director of Human Resources for Arthur Andersen’s Tax Division in Atlanta and thoroughly enjoyed her time in this role and her time in Atlanta.

Beverly and Morris moved to Charlotte in 1988 where they became active members of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was a member of The Junior Charity League and happily donated her time and volunteer efforts there. She and her family later moved to Concord where she resided for 18 years. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and served as a Circle Leader for the Women of the Church. Beverly enjoyed meeting new people and helping others, and had a special gift for loving and caring for the elderly. Through this interest she worked for many years with agencies assisting the elderly. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and travelling with friends and family.

A service to celebrate Beverly’s life will be held on Saturday, October 27th at 11:00 am at Macon Memorial Park Chapel, 3969 Mercer University Drive in Macon, GA. Visitation will be held before the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am next to the Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/.
