Steven Harry Land "Pop-Pop," 71, of Byron, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024. The family will have a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 14, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, May 15, at 2:00 PM at Byron United Methodist Church, with Reverend Carl Colbert officiating. Immediately following, Mr. Land will be laid to rest at Byron City Cemetery.

Mr. Land was born on July 5, 1952, in Macon, Georgia. He was a member of Stone Creek Baptist Church in Dry Branch, GA. He graduated from Georgia College & State University, with a self-proclaimed 5.0 GPA. He met his wife, Charlotte, while working at Avco Financial Services in Macon. Steve then went on to open his own mortgage brokerage called Land & Land Mortgage, where he worked until his retirement to be a full time "Pop-Pop". He had 9 grandchildren, whom he loved hosting at "Pop-Pop's Stay n' Play". Whether he was playing a prank, finding a deal, watching a ballgame, or manning the grill, he loved being around his entire family. He also enjoyed being at Lake Sinclair with his brother, Alan.

Mr. Land was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Charlotte Rowland Land; daughter, Kristy Doles; mother, Evelyn Thompson Land; and brother, Alan Land.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving family: children; Becky Norrell, Katey Ray (Kessler) and LeAnn Jones (Brandon); son-in-law, Mike Doles; father, Malcolm Land; sister, Jennifer Land; grandchildren, Connor Doles (Caleigh), Garrett Doles, Reilly Doles, Griffin Parker, Korbin Ray, Kohen Ray, Hayden Jones, Reese Jones, and Ashton Jones; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
