IN MEMORIAM

Judy Bedingfield (Crawford) - Class Of 1970

Judy Bedingfield (Crawford)

Judith (Bedingfield) Crawford, age 71, of Milledgeville, GA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 2, 2024. After a long battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Judy was born September 6, 1952, to the late Remus Judson Bedingfield, Sr. and his wife, Mary Lee (Johnson) Bedingfield in Washington County, Georgia. Judy attended Lasseter High School where she was one of the school’s first majorettes. She later became a cheerleader for the Mark Smith Bulldogs.

After serving in multiple positions at Georgia Power, Judy retired as a Senior Support Specialist after 44 years of service. After her retirement, Judy and Kenneth started traveling whenever they could with her sister and brother-in-law. They took several trips to the mountains, enjoyed a week in Branson, MO, and visited the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam. One of her favorite trips was going to Pasadena when Georgia beat Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl.

Judy was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching in Children’s Church on Sunday mornings. Judy also participated in the new Rock Ministry at her church. She said that painting scripture on rocks and then handing them out was how she could share God’s love with others. She held other positions in her church including serving on the Baptismal Committee, Finance Committee, and working in the Church Office.

Judy loved her family, especially her grandsons. Both young men have impressive basketball skills with one already playing at the collegiate level; the second one will soon to follow. Aunt Judy was special to all of her nieces and nephews and would be the first one to try anything they would ask of her. Most of our family gatherings were held at Judy and Kenneth’s home. There would be so much food that everyone could take home leftovers.

In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by sisters, Pamela Bedingfield Payne, and Paulette Bedingfield Weber, Niece, Julie Payne, and nephew, Taylor Bedingfield. Surviving in addition to her spouse, Kenneth Dwain Crawford of Milledgeville, are her daughter, Stephanie Bleshoy (Jay) of Marietta, grandsons Cameron and Zachary Bleshoy, sisters Melinda Tucker (Jimmy) of Savannah, Monica Jinglewski (Michael) of Macon, brother, Judson Bedingfield (Teresa) of Macon, her loving Mother-in-law, Joyce Crawford of Irwinton, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Life for Judy will be held Wednesday, June 5, at 11:00 AM at Moores Funeral Home, 301 S. Wayne Street, Milledgeville, GA. Visitation will be held immediately before the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will be private for family and close friends at Riverside Cemetery in Macon.

In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to Friendship Baptist Church at Lake Sinclair, 635 Twin Bridges Rd., Eatonton, GA 31024.

Moores Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements.
