He graduated with an Associate's Degree from Brewton Parker College and attended Luther Rice Seminary. He pastored Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Butler and for thirty-one years, was the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church (formerly known as Rivoli Crossing). Brother Willis was active within the Macon Baptist Association and most often was a part of local Veteran's Day and Memorial Day commemorations.
