Balinda Dykes (Duncan) - Class Of 1969

Balinda Dykes Duncan, age 67, was born in Macon, GA on February 26, 1951 and died at home in Macon on December 20, 2018 after living with Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinsonisms for about 15 years, although only diagnosed 7 years ago.


Balinda was predeceased by mother D.D. Nipper, father James L. Dykes,and sister Kathy Edwards. She is survived by husband of almost 36 years Rex Duncan of Macon, GA, daddy Billy Nipper of Macon, GA, children Cindy Duncan Shaw (Ken) of Shreveport, LA, Chelle Duncan Sullivan of Bossier City, LA, Jay Duncan of West Monroe, LA and Carmen Balinda O'Hair (Bryan) of Corinth, TX. Siblings Sandra Herin (Geno) of Lizella, GA, Judy Lynaugh (Danny) of Dahlonega, GA, Jimmy Dykes (Sara) of Hahira, GA, Della Jackson (Jimmy) of Dahlonega, GA, Pam Mauldin (Joey) of Tignall, GA, Gina Christian of Lynn Haven, FL and Lisa Cassetty of Augusta, GA. Brother-in-law Benjie Edwards of Dahlonega, GA. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Sammy and Penny Duncan of Shreveport, LA. Grandchildren Michael Kasey of Chagrin Falls, OH, Travis Kasey of Summerton, SC, Kenny Shaw of Dana Point, CA, Chandler Duncan of Tallahassee, FL, Amy Taylor (Brandon) of Shreveport, LA, Logan Duncan of Tallahassee, FL, Mary Shaw of Dallas, TX, Marshall Duncan of Purvis, MS, Nicole Baudendistel (Zac) of Lewisville, TX, Molly Sullivan of West Monroe, LA and Stephanie O'Hair of Corinth, TX. Great grandson Wyatt Kasey of Ohio. Numerous nieces and nephews and too many friends to list.


Balinda was retired from United States Postal Service. She loved everyone and was loved in return because she always saw the good in them and never met a stranger. She was an avid cross-stitcher, giving away most of her creations. Her family, immediate and extended, was a central part of her life. Balinda was a Baptist, last attending New Heights Baptist Church in Macon, GA. For years, she taught the Sunday School Class for the oldest ladies. She was also an ordained deacon. Balinda leaves a void in everyone's life.
