Martha Marie Tidwell Sanders-Stephenson, 71, of Macon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 10, at 3:00 PM at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, with Pastor, Phil Skelton officiating. Immediately following, Marie will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.

Marie was born on December 18, 1951, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. William Tidwell and Mrs. Annie Johnson Tidwell. She retired from GEICO after many years of service, where she worked as a service representative. Marie was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church. She spent much of her free time with her ladies groups and schoolmates. She also liked playing board games and cards, as well as dancing and singing Karaoke with her husband, Lee. She loved her family, especially her grandbabies. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Marie was preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Leonard “Sandy” Sanders; son, Jeff Sanders; and siblings, Nathan Tidwell and Patricia Jean Spivey.

Marie is survived by her husband, Alford Lee Stephenson, III; son, Jason Sanders; grandchildren, Brayden Sanders and Darren Sanders; step-children, Len Larson (Debbie) and family, Steve Larson (Connie) and family, Cappy Walzal (Billy) and family, Clint Stephenson (Andrea), and Jason Stephenson (Lori) and their son; and several nieces and nephews.
