Emily S. Carey

Emily S. Carey, 80, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 12, 2014.

Born on July 13, 1934 in Superior, Wisconsin, to the late Lewis and Eva Blaner Carey, Emily was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She resided in Warner Robins since 1956 and taught chemistry and physics at Northeast High School in Macon for 21 years. While there she was recognized as Star Teacher, Teacher of the year, and listed in Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in Science and Engineering. Emily was also the head of the science departments at Tabor Junior High and Northeast High School. After retiring from teaching she was active as a volunteer at the Houston Medical Center, the Sacred Heart Christian Service Center and the Soup Kitchen at the First Methodist Church in Warner Robins.

A Rosary will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, it was the will of Ms. Carey to have memorial donations be given to the Sacred Heart Christian Service Center 136 Northview Avenue, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
